I had a great day... I didn't stuff myself but wow we cook well..


How was your day?

We stuffed, I counted 9 different pies. Plus other deserts. We can eat. Great time with friends and family. A little Football and a alot of kids movies.

The boys played football too.. We laughed our butts off, drank some, sat out by the fire... It was nice... The only one that didn't have a good time was my dog and apparently my neighbor b/c he barked a lot.. I should have left him inside, I didn't think about it b/c I usually leave him outside during the day, he has everything he needs.. But with people being off I guess he barked at hearing people and us not being here.. ahhh well....

It's so funny I was thinking the other day that I want to go serve food to the needy for the holidays.. I was telling my friend at dinner and she said she was just saying the same thing to her husband.. So we're going to do that Christmas Eve... Have to find a place "not" in LA though...

Thats great you should do it, take your son J. to teach him things about life.

Last saturday I went with my b-in-law and we bought 30 turkeys and enough complete meals to feed 30 families 4 complete meals for a family of 5 each. Delivered them Monday and tuesday through schools and daycare programs here in Moore where we live...very fullfilling.

That's our plan to take our the kids and let them help and see how lucky they are...

I think it would be so fulfilling.. I was watching the news the other morning and seeing the people getting free turkeys, etc and I thought "Gosh, I am so fortunate, I should really do something" so I'm going to....

We americans dont know how lucky we really are...just go to someplace like say the phillipines and it becomes very appearnt in about 10 minutes. Yet they are the friendliest, most loving people I have ever had the opportunity to meet.

I dont do enough but i try to do something every now and again. Oh we did not buy all that ourselves, we had help from some of our church members through individual donations. I like doing things behind the scene.

And yeah I am surprised that you are taking time off but not that you are doing a good deed.

We are doing a gift thing kinda the same way, but having the families fill out a registry card. They give gift cards each year, I said bad idea to give same as cash. they then can go buy cigs and beer. Must be food or clothing or toys after they have pre-registered and we capture their info. so we can begin bible study with them.

That's great Updawg... Very smart too... I do the toys for tots every year, but giving toys isn't really doing much... I wish I could do more, the problem is it breaks my heart, I cry and want to take everyone home and take care of them so I have to learn to not be so emotional about it..
