Topic: Trouble Shooting Wireless... | |
---|---|
I'm trying to trouble shoot my friend's wireless network. He runs off of a Cisco product, I think its the top of the line router and I don't know why he even spent over 100 bucks for the thing even though he's running 1G speed. The steps that I had taken was basically resetting the router, the LAN works but as far as the wireless, it gave me complications even though that the IP's are not conflicting. I input the PIN, then it leads me to another screen, I've tried looking in my 70-291 course book and found nothing regarding to this problem. READYFORMORE, if you're reading this, I really need your help since my instructor is 6 hours away hunting somewhere in the boonies.

I've been having alot of problem with the wireless on my one laptop lately (using XP and D-link hockey puck). Reinstalling the driver usually does the trick for me.
Wait a minute, have you verified that it's the sending end and not the receiving end? (getting another laptop to pick up the signal from the base) |

I input the PIN, then it leads me to another screen, I've tried looking in my 70-291 course book and found nothing regarding to this problem. are you just trying to connect to a closed or an open network? Is the router set up as an access point? What kind of network is it? Are you connecting to the internet? What's the models name/number of the router? We need more info.. |

When I have "trouble shooting wireless", I just relax, focus, and make sure to gently squeeze the trigger after letting out a half-breath. One can also use a scope, or simply move closer to the target.

If you are having a real emergency, you can run out and buy enough cable to use the LAN.
