So the holiday season is approaching yet again. Anyone else feeling a little bit of trepidation about going to gatherings without a significant other?

Not really, kind of enjoying being single and meeting new people that i wouldnt have met if i had a significant other. Having said that, i would feel awkward if everyone else was a couple.

This will be my first year on my own so I am not sure how I will feel. At this point, I am not worrying about it. I would rather go alone and enjoy myself and my friends' company then to stay home or be with someone I did not want to be with.

No, gonna be all alone this Thanksgiving. Would rather have the feeling of being nervous meeting a significant others family

Don't have that feeling. I have my family, my future brother-in-law, my friends and my room mate. I won't be alone for the holidays. Besides, I'll have extra money saved when I don't have to buy an extra gift.

I grew up in the oilfield we made double time and a half workin Christmas. People would get mad and threaten to quit if you didnt let em work I didn't have a Christmas or a Thanksgiving off till I turned 28 or so |

Nah no fear. Thanksgiving I have decided to stay home and just relax. Christmas is at my house so I'll be plenty busy planning. Family and friends are enough for me.

It's true, I'd rather have someone close for the holidays - but I don't, so I'll smile and enjoy the time with my family.

<-----As some of you know, I am meeting the love of my life two days before Thanksgiving...so I am ecstatic...in sharp contrast to last year. Some of those posting here have been especially kind and sweet in recognizing my joy and wishing the very best for us... So, to ledi180, peladac and delilady - three beautiful women in every sense of the word - I wish you each happiness with your special someone. And may that equal my happiness... I could wish for you nothing better!

I guess i have been alone that i have gotten comfortable with it. It would be nice to find a special little sumthin for christmas though

I've been without a significant other for a pretty long time so this will be no different... I'm happy with my family and friends...
