It's not so much that love misleads. Rather, I believe we find it difficult to follow the path at times. We are complex as individuals....rife with the good and not-so-good qualities...that define us. When you add another individual you add further complexity...almost a geometric progression. Then, perhaps over time you experience relationships that leave their marks. So, maybe you become more cautious...more guarded...more suspicious. Our lives are hundreds of overlays of events and emotions...of learned and involuntary responses that make us both vulnerable and bold. All very natural, just the mind's way of protecting the heart! No one has the answer for all of us. If so, we'd all be happy at the same time!

D. never
IMHO - love in and of itself is never mis-leading.. I think in some situations we simply mis-lead ourselves away from reality... It is difficult to admit to yourself what you want is not what is happening... or what you are receiving, or what you are giving... separating lonliness from love... It is what it is (love)... it's all in how we see it, deal with it, are real with it (or not)... what we hold on to, what we let go of... Me? I am always open to love, willing to give and receive -- but I will not settle... it never works out in the end.. :) ![]() |

always, if by misleading you mean unintentional. you never intentionally fall in love with another person, that burden falls on them and not you. so is it misleading that you can fall in love with some one who is only contending to their flow of reality? even unintentionally, is still misleading.

People are misleading and those who interpret the lust as love. The rest are just confused or have no idea.

F. Other
Love only misleads those who fall in love easily. Some of us, well, we wear the old heart on the sleeve, and let anyone who wants to blow their nose on it. Those of whom it takes a long time for them to actually feel love, well, they only rarely get mislead. Downside is, sometimes it takes to long for them to realize it, and then, when it's too late, they feel that love decieve them. Love is just more proof that the "powers at be" don't know what they are doing. |
