No, but it gives closure to the families of the ones that they killed ^um can you explain this, I'm lost......I thought closure meant finding out why and what happened, we know what happened, we don't know why, he remained mute to the reasoning. as for this "Whoso sheddeth man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed"....does that mean those responsible for shedding blood should also fall under this, if it does then half your world leaders should be shot....ok, we already know that...lol Im opposed to the death penalty. I think life in prison is a much more suitable 'punishment'. Three square meals a day....free health care...cable tv....weight room/workout equipment...." look the other way " guards.... Other than being in a cell for 23 hours a day...I really don't see the " punishment " involved. Now....IF they were locked in a cell for 23 hours a day...in solitary...with no tv...if they get sick, that's their problem.. THAT would be punishment. |

My uncle is going on 20 yrs now in the prison. He was in Hunstville unit and moved to Allred unit a few years back. He has it pretty good because he is a behaved prisoner. He does leather work and makes boots, purses, etc.
I can't speak for other states or for all prisons but the 2 he has been in are pretty good and better living than what some on the outside have |

Again having worked for AZDOC prison isn't like the movies so much, but it is a city within a city and has it's own laws and the people who are there may cry themselves to sleep the first few nights but adapt to it and it becomes normal. |

o god people have no clue about prisons.....I guess every state is different, but most states suffer from overcrowding and prisons have become warehouses of human flesh. I think people from the halocaust may have had more room in the cattle cars. But believe what you want. As for santioning the death penalty, mit's still legalized MURDER and if you condone it you are no better than the one committing it, bottom mline.

I agree. How many hundreds of times have we read stories about murders who are set free and then kill and kill again.Too many. You can argue all you want about how it may work and not work but for me personally I breathe a sigh of relief knowing these horrible people will not kill again.Death is a wonderful deterrence for repeat murders and it 100% effective. Before you lash out about Capital punishment. If good Ol Bill clinton would have executed Saddam hussein instead of listening to his liberal buddies and giving him a second chance,we probably wouldn't be at War with Iraq right now.It was Saddam and his threats to America that caused us to go to war with him.How many thousands of lives would have been saved if Saddam was executed after the Gulf war. |

Being from PA and having to go into the areas in MD and Washington, DC for work that these murders were taking place, I lived in fear. Someone from my local area was one of the victims. I am glad he was executed. It may not be a popular opinion or one that is politically correct but it is heartfelt.

I just read the entire thread...it would seem his execution is indeed the popular opinion. There are very few of us in here who oppose capitol punishment. The state of Utah does offer execution by shooting squad for the "blood must be shed" mentality. |

Do they really still have firing squads???? I didn't realize that.

Let me ask you a personal question. If you had the power to bring back all those people who have been executed for the last 50 years(the serial killers, the child murders, the rapist, the drive by gang members)would you bring them back and give them life sentences? Would you give life sentences to the German soliders who killed all those Jews during the holocaust? |

Do they really still have firing squads???? I didn't realize that. eh, I don't know if it's the same as a firing squad ..they do offer death by shooting so the blood is shed. It is for the Christian concept of if you shed innocent blood, redemption can only be obtained by your blood being shed, the eye for an eye thing I suppose. And since there are so many Mormons here..they offer that manner of death for those who believe it... |

^would you like a personal invitation to step up and start the job, I'll send you my address. I am glad he was executed. It may not be a popular opinion or one that is politically correct but it is heartfelt. ^and now you dont live in fear?...I find that hard to believe, because you never know when you're in the cross hairs of someones scope, aare you shuddering yet....this is actually hilarious. Let me ask you a question, when he was in the army and killing people from long range that was ok right?, because it was war and he was a trained sniper...trained being the key word as is war, maybe he declared war on the general public.....anyhow, I bet he was a nice guy until he went into the service and was trained to kill...hmmmmm |

No, I am not shuttering and I choose not to live everyday in fear. I do not drive through the streets of Philadelphia daily thinking that I could be killed by a random bullet although there is always that possibility. I also know that not all trained soldiers come back from war and become serial killers. Was he a nice guy before going to war? I don't know. I respect your right to your opinion and feel entitled to have mine.
