Promises

I promise I won't fall,
too far for you, tonight.
I won't let you down,
when life don't look so good.
You see I can only be the
way I am, just look,
at how I drift and walk
on down this street.
Try to remember,
how I promised you.
I wasn't good at giving
you the best.
I don't want to fall for you
any harder than I have.
It hurts to know ,
you won't be coming 'round.
I'll just walk away,again,
down this dark, cold street.
Away from what
I couldn't feel no more.
Try to know its done
and you won't be back again,
So I won't fall for you, tonight,
