Topic: Largest ever Army Base Shooting | |

Before I was allowed to serve I had to take an oath swearing to protect and defend the constitution of the United States of America. If they charge dude with treason along with his other crimes, that charge would fit the bill in my book. That is exactly right, you take a very serious oath. To turn your back on your fellow soldier is a disgrace and he needs to be punished to the fullest extent. I hope it's the death penalty. I wonder if this will cause our military to take another look at their policies concerning just who they allow to serve. I'm sure they want to be pc, just because it's easier to go along to get along but sheesh already... |

Enough from the peanut gallery already... Back to the topic... I haven't had time to really keep up with the story. Can anyone tell me whether or not if there's going to be an in depth investigation as to why this "officer" wasn't red flagged before he went postal? I mean, didn't anyone see it coming ? |

I think that is one approach his counsel will take. HE is not talking without his lawyer at this point and I think the best defense he could have is if he had a documented illness leading up to this event that went unchecked. |

So he's going to use the insane in the membrane defense, and it's not his fault because someone should have read his crazy mind and stopped him before he commited bloody, murder... Figures... It staggers the mind... |

I can not wait for the trial . I think some sort of insanity defence will be in place . But it is interesting to hear the prime motive in all this . |

Many take mental health as seriously as physical and a persons state of mind plays a part in many verdicts. |

It just seems to me that accountability has to enter into the equation sometime. I may be wrong but I think we're all responsible, ultimately, for our own state of mind so whether it's depression, stress, fatigue or whatever, there has to be justice for the families left devastated by these people, sick, lame, lazy OR crazy... just my opinion.... |

I honestly think that Major Hasan just fingered the Bush and Obama policy in both Iraq and Afghanistan as he is a high ranking officer .
