I like ink as long as it is done well. Homemade tat's look kind of ugly. Doesn't seem fair that people get discriminated against for it. I don't see what is wrong with just getting a tat you like because you like the design. Not everything has to have some deep meaning.

Hi Lurchs_sister,
I think it's good when the tatt has a meaning. I have a few personal tattoos that mean something to me. I also have a Samurai on my back. There's a pic of my Samurai on my profile, Take a look - I'd be interested to know what you think. I think women look good with tattoos, as long as they suit them. |

I don't see what is wrong with just getting a tat you like because you like the design. Not everything has to have some deep meaning. I don't think the "tattoo artwork" has to represent something, what I'm saying is there should be some "significance" for the reason for getting it, such as some "life" event. Example: I have piercings to represent my Mom's pain enduring the cancer she dealt with ... because every now and then I experience pain from the piercings, reminding me of the pain she must have endured. For example, some folks get a tattoo because a loved one has passed on, or some significant change has happened in their life. It's an opinion, of course, but to get a tatt for the reason of having a tatt seems the wrong reason. I understand a person might enjoy the "ink" for art's sake, but what I've found is most people get ink to reflect some action in their life - in other words, there's a story behind the ink. Just an opinion :) |

It's an opinion :) So, you were shopping or driving home from work or lying on the couch and said, "I want a nose piercing"? Not to beat a dead horse (maybe I have already), but just want to understand the rationale :) |

Myself I don't have any tattoo's my son has a few. To me me those that have a theme or at least interlock well together are neat looking....
I did go take a look at the ones Wux has I must say amazing art work there... Here is a few my son has... At first it took me a while to get use to the ones he has but eventually the more I saw them the more I liked them he has more but I don't have pictures of them. |

Hi Silvercloud! I agree about the showing first hand so others are aware as I'm inked head to toe and obviously I'm still going, this is number 11, but I'm also not going to let what they think stop me. I love the ink on men and women and if the person that is interested doesn't like it then they aren't the right person for me. A man covered in ink, yummy! Have some of my ink on my profile... |
