The Hand That Rocks Her Cradle

My Mary says, I'll just keep it around,
though, I never was blessed
to hear that sound
as it creaked with
the slide on the wooden rockers,
holding my soft heart,
wrapped in his blanket.
Cruel, how they couldn't see,
I love him.
He needed, needs, me.
Now they try to fit him in
a space of time
on their whim.
I can't let it go
though it serves no future purpose.
To someone else, just wood,worthless.
Maybe, I'll keep it a little while longer
Wait til my heart and soul feels a bit stronger.
I'll put all the toys, I couldn't play with him
And rock it sometimes, just on my whim.
