on one hand I would like to see a one world currency as it has good points to it. And I definitely would like to see one world government someday where the whole world is at peace with one another.
Is it likely to happen? The world currency probably will, but one world government wont for a long long time yet if ever. |

A One World Government will be the death of America that most of us know it.
Heaven help us all. |

Things are looking grim for the good ol' US of A.

From the history of people who have tried giant States (Weimar, USSR, Rome, etc), it seems that one world government=tyranny of the worst sort. |

Article 6 – Copenhagen Climate Facility
1. A Copenhagen Climate Facility, hereinafter referred to as “the Facility”, is hereby established. To avoid dangerous climate change and build climate resilience, the way society is structured will need to change fundamentally - from investment patterns to development programs. This cannot be accomplished by the fragmented set of existing institutions. In order to enhance the implementation of the Convention in accordance with the Bali Action Plan and its four building blocks, a new institution, the Copenhagen Climate Facility (CCF), is needed. |

A one-member-one-vote rule shall be observed. Ironically, you are describing the UN... not one of the most effective institutions historically. The basis of the "Carbon Credit" world would be for small polluters to get credit for being clean and big polluters (like the US) to be charged for the tons of carbon they put in the air. The basic theory is that as dirty technology become more expensive, clean technology will replace it by being more cost effective. The "credits" will be traded like stock funds. One of the "flaws" foreseen in the carbon credit plan is that developing nations like China and India would be allowed to pollute more or less freely because they are "disadvantaged". |
