while standing in line at the grocery store a man i know was two people in front of me.
he suffered a terrible car accident when he was 12 and has been paralized in a wheelchair since, when he was 20 he then got diagnosed with cancer and has been fighting it ever since....he was bald from chemo and sickly lookin.. right behind him were two guys standing in line complaining about how life is unfair, job sucks, how he has to walk a mile to get to the store.etc. my friend turns his wheelchair around and tugged at the guys arm..the guy turned seen him and asked him what he wanted...my friend simply said " when you think things are really bad do what i do..just think things could always be worse."the guy was struck dumb, jaw open and silent...he didnt even talk to the clerk on his check out....lol |

to see a guy with so much personal tragedy have such a positive attitude is a testament of our ability to overcome our disabilities as humans

Yeah too many complain about what they don't have or how bad life has treated them but fail to remember there is always someone that has it worse then they do.....
Maybe that gave them a bit of a wake up call...... |

to see a guy with so much personal tragedy have such a positive attitude is a testament of our ability to overcome our disabilities as humans Having a positive attitude is probably why he has survived this far. When life deals out these horrendous tests, it is the strong of heart that overcome it, even if they do not win against the disease, they still overcome it just by enjoying life anyway. |

The "there by the Grace of God I don't have to be disabled" mindset is not always so cool of a way to think. We all have our crosses to bear and useing a wheelchair is no worse than many things that come along. Strength is usually derived by love and encouragement from friends and family as well as personal attitude. A person who is not taught from childhood may not know how to cope.
