Yeah, free speech is always a touchy subject. I think it is sad people NEED to have their speech regulated because of their willingness to use words to put others in harms way. To be honest, I don't know that it's that so much as the government wanting total control of what gets out and if so how. They could do that quite effectively with television, radio and even print, but with the internet they can't and that's become more and more evident as the web has grown. Realizing that, they're trying now to take back the power they lost. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() If we start regulateing the statements on line then people will be dumb enough to think that if it were a lie someone would stop them. At least on the net there is still a thing of credibility needing to be proved. |

How did this thread become a vaccine thread? This is about the internet regulation not the goddamn vaccine.

Yeah, free speech is always a touchy subject. I think it is sad people NEED to have their speech regulated because of their willingness to use words to put others in harms way. This is not possible, because there is no objective measure of "harm" caused by "free speech". Speech is already limited enough by the Constitution (libel and slander can be prosecuted)and various State constitutions. |

Did they get the OK from ALGORE? Doesn't he have the patent of discovery?

Hey now. The Court may say there is a connection....but the Government insists there isn't. Who ya gonna believe?? The Government would never lie to us. |

And even if it WAS true then its not the vaccination ITSELF that causes it but a chemical in the vaccine that causes it.
Come on Mirror. That is nothing more than semantics. The vaccine contains the chemicals that are causing Autism. After all the decades of being told that we HAVE to get those vaccines, quibbling over the language is absurd. The chemicals in the vaccine MAKE UP the vaccine. Therefore, the vaccination does ( theoretically but being researched and becoming more and more factual ), indeed, cause Autism. |

I'm not sure if someone has already mentioned this...the proposal for mandatory worldwide identification and regulation of the internet was actually pitched to the governments of America and the EU by Eugene Kapersky, the co-founder and CEO of Kaspersky Lab.
Ironic that the idea of worldwide regulation and mandatory identification would come from someone who has made millions selling security and privacy software keeping people from tracking your usage. It's not an entirely bad idea, but it's a double edged sword. It would give lawmakers the basis to strip away privacy rights allowing immediate access to usage logs without the need for suspicion which would be a huge step in stopping major problems like kiddie porn but it would also open the possibility of unauthorized 3rd parties accessing your information and opening the door for massive identity theft. |

I had heard somewhere that you will not be able to make anti Obama comments online without them being "regulated".

Back in the days when people died en masse, refrigeration and electricity were also rare. You leave out MANY variables, greatly misleading those who may read your post. |
