Topic: Profiles: what are some common problems | |

Actually people with a terrible spelling can easily go around if they get a little more "techie." Use firefox browser, which will underline the wrongly spelled words and right clicking on the underlined word will throw up a bunch of suggestions which word you wanted to write. I know, i get away with it too, and meanwhile i learn how to spell it correctly. http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/ |

My name is in this puzzle Here is how to pronounce my first name correctly. (don't say the "The" just the big word) Like "parents" but with an 'F' (and use 'nce' instead of nts)!!! Now that we have high jacked to name pronunciations, why does everyone call me Melonie?? Where in the hell are the getting the "n" in my name? I also HATE being called 'Mel'. That is sooo not my name! Mel is a boy's name! It bothers me that people who do not know me would feel close enough to me to use a nickname that is not right! |

Hmmm... well...
1) Women who say "I'm not into drama" which always eludes me to think they meant to add "anymore" which I infer is "it takes one to know one"... and I steer clear of the negative immediately. 2) Fuzzy pictures. C'mon, this is 2009.... review your profile and add better quality pictures, it NOT that hard... 3) Sideways pictures..., what, couldn't open it in Windows picture viewer and hit the little arrow button so it gets straight? 4) Getting ten "Who viewed me's" a day from women with no pictures at all. My assumption is that they are fat and ugly and/or have no real feeling of self-worth, thus no photos of self. 5) No photos of self... but lot's of pictures of fairies, her dogs, her cats, her horse, clouds, sunrises, and other gunk... but not one picture of her... 6) Poelp hoo cain't spel 7) Pictures with some other guy in them... WTF??? So, this is your boyfriend or husband and your headline says "looking for Mr. Right"... or is that your brother or father or uncle or... I always assume the person is not smart enough to use solo pictures... Seeing this, I move on quickly 8) Pictures where the person is surrounded by drunks in a bar... major turn off... 9) Women who write "Ask me later"... and that is all that is on their profile... then, when you e-mail them, they never respond... LOL. 10) Piercings through lips or eyebrows... no thank you... I'm a hairy guy, whilst cuddling they would get caught in my thick chest hair and I would rip them out by the roots by mistake... not a pleasant visual... 11) People who say "I don't have any pictures because I don't own a digital camera... What, do they live on a different planet? I could probably find a digital camera in the clutches of one of my friend's with my eyes closed, wearing a snorkel and flipper fins... I don't buy it... And being a techno-phobe to me is a major turn off, so if you aren't into technology, why the hell are you trying to use technology to find friends or a relationship on a site like Mingle2? Seems to be a lie to me, and I hate liars... 12) Two turtle doves... and a partridge in a pear tree... oh... that's the end of the song... |

We are supposed to read profiles? Yeah, besides that, I also think that women would be just fine with a paragraph really. Poems and all that stuff (unless you wrote it!) are not necessary. I mean it's kinda hard to read a profile when You get smacked with Boob shots I have tried my hardest but i have miserably failed LMAO A paragraph? ... wishful thinking I'm not sure what her profile said, but I think it was about boobs |

I try to crop people out but if they are my friends -- and part of my life -- then potential guys might as well know right away! You have valid points! Now go shave your body hair *eww*! |

Hmmm... well... 1) Women who say "I'm not into drama" which always eludes me to think they meant to add "anymore" which I infer is "it takes one to know one"... and I steer clear of the negative immediately. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Guys who think if a woman clearly states she is NOT into Drama couldn't possible mean they don't want to hear from some angry hostile DramaDude that twists what they say. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< 2) Fuzzy pictures. C'mon, this is 2009.... review your profile and add better quality pictures, it NOT that hard... >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> If you are over the age of 18 it is highly likely you have a few photos that might show and interest but not be that great. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< 3) Sideways pictures..., what, couldn't open it in Windows picture viewer and hit the little arrow button so it gets straight? >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Lighten up. The whole point is to get noticed. And show a little light hearted humor attracts a lot of people. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< 4) Getting ten "Who viewed me's" a day from women with no pictures at all. My assumption is that they are fat and ugly and/or have no real feeling of self-worth, thus no photos of self. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> They may just be curious who is saying "whatever" and showing their friends who to avoid because they have self worth. You know the old thing about assumeing. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< 5) No photos of self... but lot's of pictures of fairies, her dogs, her cats, her horse, clouds, sunrises, and other gunk... but not one picture of her... >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Some women chose to send pictures only to those that prove to be interested in them first as people. Some men see a woman who likes such "gunk" as feminine, artistic, or any number of things thus proving that a picture, not just a photo, can be worth a thousand words to the perceptive person. 6) Poelp hoo cain't spel <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Maybe they are doing it on purpose to avoid anal retentive perfectionsist who look for flaws rather than content. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 7) Pictures with some other guy in them... WTF??? So, this is your boyfriend or husband and your headline says "looking for Mr. Right"... or is that your brother or father or uncle or... I always assume the person is not smart enough to use solo pictures... Seeing this, I move on quickly <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Could be they want to make it clear they have successful relationships with men that will be more than glad to help them "Move along quicly" anyone undesireable. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 8) Pictures where the person is surrounded by drunks in a bar... major turn off... >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Not every person in a bar is drunk. Some people actually go there with friends to eat, laugh, dance, enjoy music, or fellowship. Some people actually own bars as a source of employment and profit. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< 9) Women who write "Ask me later"... and that is all that is on their profile... then, when you e-mail them, they never respond... LOL. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Well maybe not to you. But if you responded chances are so did many others. Maybe they have already found their love interest and don't feel like announceing there personal business. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< 10) Piercings through lips or eyebrows... no thank you... I'm a hairy guy, whilst cuddling they would get caught in my thick chest hair and I would rip them out by the roots by mistake... not a pleasant visual... >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> TMI. Lot of guys have body hair and peircings that are no problem for them so can't figure why it is a problem. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< 11) People who say "I don't have any pictures because I don't own a digital camera... >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Interesting theory that anyone who doesn't have or want to bum a friends digital camera is a liar. Or that if they don't post a photo they are a techno-phobe. Especially since evidently they are capable enough to post the profile they like. Maybe turning on a guy who closes his eyes and wears a snorkle and flipper fins to find things just isn't there thing. Thanks for the entertaining and revealing post. ROFLMBO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 12) Two turtle doves... and a partridge in a pear tree... oh... that's the end of the song... |

Being a girl I don't get to see many of the other ladies profiles. It's happened once or twice. I'll always say yes ...I never hear back from them though. It seems that many of the issues that have been listed previously happen on both sides. I skim or right out ignore males who've got no interests, no personality, and worst of all the tell-tale "WEED" name. Sorry, dudes the smell reeks, it's very off-putting.
A personal issue is guys who wear hats, shades, or the hoods up on their sweaters. I don't care how "gangsta" you think you are. Can't you take a nice photo where we can actually see you? The spelling and grammer thing can get annoying: Their, there, and they're are all for different instances folks. Same as too, to, and two. We're on the net. www.dictionary.com is an awesome site to help you with the understanding and it even has thesaurus, encyclopedia and translator functions. |

I love the guys who get all kinds of attitude about putting down what kind of profession.
If you have done something all of your life, at least most of your working life, why not just own up to it. Personally I would prefer a guy who has a job, even if it is boreing, or at least a visable way of a paying his own bills? |
