Make sure you don't get the tape on the kittens fur!! But that would be my suggestion, tape it so it can't get the collar off.

Leave it off. Check the stitches often.

At the vet hospital i work at we never send them home with a E-collar after being spayed or neutered. Just keep the area clean and put some ky jelly on it. She'll be okay and keep her from licking it or it will cause dehencing

With your kitty just being done I figured she would have been wearing one of those things that look like a light shade LOL.If you leave that on I'm sure shell get used to it .Then again there's a snap it collar from most pet stores available now it clicks in place like a belt it's tiny so doesn't harm her kneck give it a try good luck .

Put mittens on her hands so she cant claw at it. The bonus is she'll be trying to get the mittens off instead of the collar, and look silly doing it.

Ask either your vet or PetCO for a refit, and see if there's something you can do about the collar. In the meantime, I've heard that if you put vaseline on the incision area, kitty won't lick it. Vaseline tastes terrible to cats, as much as it does to humans. And it won't harm the cat in any way.

Collars are such a new hype. Years and years of spaying, cats and dogs, and no animal was ever done in by it. Leave it off, tell her this is a -no- like any other training. She'll understand. Reward her for being good.

if she wears a collar (even a flea collar) you can always fasten the E-collar to that, it will stay on easier. Otherwise, most are adjustable. If she is so tiny that the smallest fitting still doesn't keep it on, then you may have to do without it. As long as she leaves it alone, she should be fine. If she wont, you may want to call your vet in the morning and ask for suggestions.

Is she messing with the stitches or glue? If not, I wouldn't worry about using the e-collar unless necessary.
