Topic: when's the last time you was tard happy? | |

Retardation could also refer to the feeling of retraction or disassociation that euphoria can bring - the appearance that everything is slowing down or you are moving slower than the world around you. The sensation is similar to when someone says "It all happened so fast" or "My heart skipped a beat." Or it could mean the other thing. One thing that truly makes me happy is climbing trees. My friends and I still go into the forest and find those thin trees that go straight up like a rope, get about thirty feet in the air, and then ride the trees to the ground. The feeling is amazing - the isolation of being so high and so alone with no sense of safety, and the way that plummeting towards the earth uncertainly tickles your heart. The trees don't snap - they continue to grow and we see them the next year when we go back, the trail marked by the arches of nature and our collective work. some people are so uptight about being poli |

i got realitives that are retarded...anx they are the happiest people ive ever met...politcal correctness goes to far...first of all a true mentaly retarded person isnt goin to know the difference..i know ive taken care of them...difference between mentaly slow and retarded....have you truelly seen how happy these people are? they dont have a care in the world. they're happy with the simplest things and get exstatic over the extras... so lighten up a little..hell most the time i wish i was retarded You could not be more wrong. Mentally retardation has many levels and when you use this slur you insult a wide range of people with a wide range of functions. To say they are oblivious to being mimiced and unable to know they are being called a name is ridiculous. That they may not always have the ability to vocalize their pain or defend themselves from such heartless absurdities and discrimination does not make it right. To say they don't have a care in the world is something you have been falsely made to believe. It makes me crindge to think you are a care giver. Even the most profoundly mentally challenged know when they are being handled with dignity and love and when they are being treated with predjudice and and ignorance. As far as wishing you were retarded I can only say becareful for what you wish for. Mother Nature has a true sense of Karma. As far as lightening up I thought I was being pretty generious but some people want to stick with their bigotry rather than learn or care how they are percieved. Finally someone else who understands why I grit my teeth at stuff like this. Thank you for speaking your mind in a clear non-confrontational manner. |

thank you heather... do you have a tard moment to share...lol? Well thank you for asking......I would be delighted to share! Someone once used that word in my home in a derogatory manner in front of my child who has a diagnosis of mental retardation. They left with my size 8 boot up their butt. It was the funniest sight ever, seeing them walk bow-legged to their car. I spent the rest of the day laughing so hard! It was a giddy moment for sure, because I felt just like a kid again.....reacting to something without a care in the world and just laughing and laughing. I sure hope they didn't think I was laughing at their expense, the poor things, because it was really just me having a great time enjoying the funny sight. I didn't get the whole thing they said on their way to the car either, about being politically correct and not making fun of bow-legged people....I mean jeez, I wasn't putting them down, I was just having a good time. My cousin twice removed has a step-brother who is a bow-legged guy and I'm real close to him, so I didn't see the problem with it. I'm sure he wouldn't care at all if I changed it around to say boll weevil or something, 'cause that's close enough to bow legged. He probably wouldn't even know the difference. Anyhow, It feels so good to re-live the memory of that time. Thanks so much for letting me play! |
