I have seen several people state that Jesus carried the cross duing his
crucifixion.

Yet in the book I see reference in many places that someone else named
Simon of Cyrene actually carried the cross.

Watch Passion of the Christ.

Jesus was beaten so badly and bleeding so much, that he eventually
couldn't walk anymore on his own. So Simon was told to help Jesus carry
his cross.

Spider Simon did not help Jesus carry it, he was GIVEN the cross to
carry.

This is what I have read.

God point Wonderman. Makes me wonder why it is that as I still have the
strength to carry my own cross why someone is allways trying to take it
away from me.

Simon help Jesus foe a while
However, a more interesting question would be,
are we able to carry our own cross?
are we aware that we are carrying a cross?
or we just live this life in lightness?

Good question TLW.

If we can bear the cross we carry should another take it away from us?

Wonderman the Book does not back what you say.

"And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: him
they compelled to bear his cross." (Matthew 27:32)
"And they compel one Simon a Cyrenian, who passed by, coming out of the
country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to bear his cross." (Mark
15:21)

Yet John mentions it not.

wonderman how could u say such a thing????????????????????
what u r telling me is that u don't have Jesus with u.
TLW by himself is uncapable to carry his cross, but because TLW has God
beside he is able to carry it.
You can't just say u can't, ofcourse u can.

I wouldn't base a doctine on a single scripture, especially if my
understanding of that scripture contradicted other very straight forward
and easy to understand scriptures.

Aye spider you are right.

John mentions it not but Mark and Matthew both say the same thing.

That was not a single quote I posted that was two quotes. One from Mark
and one from Matthew.

Matthew 11:29-30
-------------------------------------------------------------
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in
heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke easy, and
my burden is light.
-------------------------------------------------------------

Maybe the scripture you are interpreting to mean "Each man can carry
Christ's burden" (which is a strech considering that Jesus is God and we
are dust), really is telling you that you must take up Christ's work in
this life? Christ's work at that point was to carry the Cross to
Golgotha. Simon helped Jesus do his work, when Jesus could no longer do
it. We are called to spread the Gospel since Jesus was crucified and
left this mortal coil. Ties together perfectly and doesn't contradict
any other scripture.

We might have been created from the dust but we are not dust.

For God breathed into us the we might have a soul.

I have a physical body that is composed of a bit of the things of the
earth and a lot of water.

I have a spiritual body that is composed of a bit of the energy of the
universe and a lot of the water that is the Holy Spirit.

As far as crosses. Which do you honor. The one upon which Jesus was
crucified? Or the one that holds him not for he was greater than it?

How could Jesus have been carrying a burden in the Spritual sense. He
was doing the Will of the Father. A thing which makes the Spirit
quicken and the heart light with joy.

Psalm 103:14
-----------------------------------------------------------
For He Himself knows our frame;
He is mindful that we are but dust.
-----------------------------------------------------------

Jesus cried tears of blood because he so feared the fate that he knew
was coming. Jesus asked God to take the cup away if there was any other
way for humans to be saved.

Aye as any man would when facing such torture.

You may be dust I am not for the old earth has been swept away and
heaven itself has changed.

I know you don't see this but it is truth in my life.
