*Chuckles* Anything is possible with the Nobel Peace Prize because there was a prize awarded to dynamite when it was invented..and it's used to blow **** up and kill some innocent people everyday. Stranger things have happened. 
ummm actually Alfred Nobel was the inventor of dynamite and he used the money from his invention to establish the Nobel Prizes Huh, I didn't know that about the dynamite. Kind of ironic, no?

Ok, everybody is talking about Obama Blasting the moon to see if there is water. What is everyone's opinion on Obama winning the Noble Peace Prize? Even the people that judge and decide who gets it each year, are only human as well, and entitled to a mistake ever once in a while, and man did they ever make a BIG BOOBOO this year! What a waste of effort on their part!

He doesn't deserve it. He has done nothing to earn it. |

the Peace Prize is only one of several prizes given out each year there is also one for Literature the prize for Physics this year was split between the guys who invented the CCD camera system and the guys who invented fiber optics |

Good job for a guy who "hasn't done anything" since his presidency started. I wonder how his critics will spin this one. He really hasn't done anything to deserve it. They are just trying to influence him. See, if he wins the Nobel Peace Prize, how could he possibly live with himself if he does anything perceived as remotely militarily aggressive by the international community? From what I have seen, it will probably work. Personally I think you could have a point there, however he has changed the tone by his personality alone. If you are right though, that's a pretty slick move, one I might have though of myself. Either way I have no problem with it. |

I think , going by its founders perceptions... Alfred Nobel stipulated that the peace prize should go "to the person who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between the nations and the abolition or reduction of standing armies and the formation and spreading of peace congresses." and depending upon how often it is awarded,,,they have made an excellent choice. Obama definitely has spread a worldwide message of hope and diplomacy in his approach, his words, and his actions. I am very proud for him and his family.

Yes I asked for everyone's opinions and they have a right to think what they want. Some people like Obama and say he deserves it, and some people disagree with the decision. That is what this thread was about. I just wanted to point out what Bush has left behind for Obama to clean up. Yes Obama has a tone that has caught alot of peoples attention. |
