I'm just saying that it was before he was married, thus no "Law" was broken.

Letterman, 62, began dating Lasko in 1986, and they have a son, Harry, who was born in November 2003. All the affairs took place before Letterman's marriage, said Tom Keaney, spokesman for Letterman's production company, Worldwide Pants. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/10/05/david-letterman-apologize_n_310356.html good catch grif and yes he did it for ratings and it worked if he plays for the ratings then he deals with the rantings and even tho it was b4 he was married it was still whaile he was living with his wife so it was deception and adultery just he same |

I was thinking along the lines of this all coming up because of being blackmailed. But ok! Either way, he confessed to what he did. In my eyes, that should be the end of it. If that caused people to stop watching him, so what? There are a ton who don't care and will still watch. Is it a big deal? No. Is he the first public figure to have sex with people he worked with? No. Will he be the last? No.

March 21, 2008, 1:51 pm Is Adultery a Crime in New York? By Sewell Chan Section 255.17 of the state penal law states, “A person is guilty of adultery when he engages in sexual intercourse with another person at a time when he has a living spouse, or the other person has a living spouse. Adultery is a class B misdemeanor.” A class B misdemeanor is punishable by up to 90 days in jail or a $500 fine. http://cityroom.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/03/21/is-adultery-a-crime-in-new-york/ so yes it is a crime I SO wish I had known about this law when I was married to my cheating husband! |

Deception, quite likely ,, depending upon what the understanding of the couple is. Some couples done consider it exclusive until they are married, some even have open marriages. Noone knows but them. |

Now Dave must wear
"The Scarlet Letter" |

I don't get it, why are celebreties held to a higher accountability?! Adultery happens every day, by non celebreties. The only difference is we are allowed to commit and survive those indiscretions without it becoming a national watercooler conversation.

I always liked Dave But Why is he any different than any other Ya screw around. Ya get caught! LOL Then to top it off Kiss comes to your party!!!! Can things get any worse for the poor man!!! he wouldn't have been a victim to a crime if he had kept it in his pants. I know that sex between to consenting adults isn't a crime, what I'm saying is if he had kept it in his pants in the first place that there wouldn't have been able to have been a extortion in the first place.now that's simple to figure out. |
