Topic: Would you date/marry an ugly person? | |

OK, this is something I have been wondering for quite a while and I've
finally gotten the nerve up to post it here. My question is this: would you date and/or marry a physically ugly person that was perfect in every other respect, (i.e., smart, kind, caring, supportive, financially secure, etc., or whatever your definition of the perfect partner is). Just wondering... SheNerd :) |

Sure. But you know, on some dating sites, guys make it quite clear they
want someone attractive ("thin"). Now, I am a woman, so I am not checking out the ladies' profiles. Maybe they say the same thing. Did you hear about that dating site you have to audition for? You have to send in a photo, and they accept you or reject you based on whether or not you are good looking enough to be on their premiere site. Nasty. |

Ugly is a subjective term and different to each person. But I have a
list of qualities I am looking for in a person, and their looks is not even close to the top of the list. So yes, I would marry someone who did not meet everyone else's standards of "good looking." |

I would date someone who was not the best looking for all the other
qualities...but looking hot is just the icing on the cake. Hi rivergirl, i know what u mean too....but, some guys like thick or bigger girls. I know I'm not thin, but aint nobody gotta look at me. |

Marie is right but for this question I'm going to imagine a scenario
with this person. I wouldn't go any further than friendship BUT if I grow to love him so be it.. |

Now I'm wondering...
What's the basis of judging a person ugly? Did God created ugly? Ok, are you thinking this: White = beautiful; Black = ugly. Tall = Beautiful; Short = ugly. Pointed nose = beautiful; Flat nose = ugly. Straight hair = beautiful; Curly/kinky hair = ugly. Hmmmm... if so, you are a machine, not human! Remember, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, and Beauty is inside! Just my thoughts... |

Beauty is indeed in the eye of the beholder.. Sometimes Others can see the beauty within us that we don't see ourselves... Just One Man's Thoughts........ |

I also agree with newg, but I'd like to add;
It's not important if one, or even many people think you're "Ugly", to someone in the world I guarantee everyone can be beautiful... However, how you see your self plays a very big role. Low self esteem can be a turn off for a lot of people, so that someone who considers themselves ugly, will eventually look ugly to the onlooker as well. All you can do is be proud of who you are, and take pride in taking care of yourself and your appearance, it's just a matter of time until you find the person who finds you to be the most attractive person they've laid eyes on. |

Wow, thanks for all the great insights. I have and will continue to
date guys that other people may think are unattractive as I find them beautiful on the inside, which is what has always mattered to me. :) |

Newg - my granddaughter is 1/2 Mexican and is olive skinned, long
straight dark hair, is gorgeous at 7, had her first boyfriend in Headstart at 4 y/o, told my daughter she better buy her shotgun now. I think darker skinned people are beautiful, married a 1/2 Native American myself. |
