I will admit...I've been a Vikings fan for 19 years...SO, for MOST of those years I was boo'ing Mr. Favre and the Packers.

I literally almost passed out when I heard he was going to be with the Vikings...

went to a pre-season Texans game here in Houston and saw him in person in the purple & gold, and it just felt oh-so-wrong...

HOWEVER....
ha

I never ever didn't like Favre as a QB, or a person...anyone who truly loves the game of football can tell he has a passion for it that most simply do not...which is what makes it almost impossible to not like the man.

It's better to have him ON your team than AGAINST your team...

So I'll be sporting a #4 jersey soon...which is something I never would've dreamnt possible!!

Miracles do happen, ha...and Favre being a Viking is proof of that, to me.

Yawn.

Now that Brett Favre's personal Super Bowl is over, how do you think the Vikings will do?

I admit, they have a good team, and he is playing well, but they just beat a very mediocre Packer team and act like it's the NFC Championship.

I'm sticking with my prediction: their season ends on a very bad Brett FaRVE interception.

Well, we all have problems. Some folks just have more serious ones than others.

Favre has played much better than I have expected, BUT, I still see things ending badly, for the Vikes this year, and last night was a good example of why.

Arizona is the third good team, the Vikes have faced, on the road and lost for the second time. The Cards beat them, much the same way as the Steelers: their offense was able to spot a lead and their defense took away the run and dared Favre to beat them. It resulted in several very poor decisions, two of which turned into interceptions.

The Niners almost got away with the same plan, but Favre burned them on the last play of the game, although that was early in the year and at home.

Green Bay is a good team, and was a challenge to beat, on the road, but that was Favre's Super Bowl: the reason he came to Minnesota, despite what he claims. And the Packers' defensive game plan was poor - not enought blitzing, considering their 3-4 defense.

Besides the Packers, Baltimore is the only team the Vikings have beaten, with a winning record. Again, at home, against a bubble playoff team, that missed a last second field goal.

The Vikings are good enough to coast into the playoffs. Their remaining schedule is fairly easy. The two teams with winning records are home games. They have an all-pro offensive line, a great defense, and the best RB in the NFL. But a good team, with the right game-plan, could easily beat them in Minnesota, and definitely at home, if it is New Orleans.

Sorry Vike fans.

Again, we see the decline begin, over the last 5 games of the year. So far in the 3 games, with 2 left: 3TDs, 4 INTs, 2 of the 3 games lost.

Favre's ego was also on display as he argued with his weak-chinned coach, afraid to stand up to the future hall-of famer.

It is pretty evident, in their losses. If a defense stops the Viking's running game and put a little pressure on Favre, he can't get it done. The last thing the Vikings want, is to have Favre try to put the team on his shoulders.

He is a legend in his own mind.

The Vikes rolled over the hapless Cowboys.

To his credit, Favre can still get it done, when there is no pressure (home game, lead the entire game, etc.)

New Orleans isn't the greatest defensive team, so I think you will still manage to see a decent game from Favre, but the pressure is mounting. As Trent Dilfer said, they didn't bring Brett Favre in to win the NFC Championship, they brought him there to win the Super Bowl.

If the Vikes were traveling to New York, to play the Jets, I would say Favre would be good for 3 or 4 interceptions, because that team knows how to play defense.

As it is, I see a high scoring game and give a slight edge to the home-team. My original prediction was that the Vike's season ends on a very bad Favre interception. I'm sticking to it.

I bet the Jets are still wishing they had kept Farv-ruh right about now, going into Indianapolis this weekend. Sanchez is good, but he's no Farv-ruh.

You must be joking.

Did you see what Favre did for the Jets, last year?

My favorite was his performance against Chad Pennington,
the QB he replaced, in what was essentially,
a playoff game.

Favre is riding the perfect wave, right now.

When he crashes and burns, I feel sorry for the teammates and coaches around him.

He won't hesitate to throw them under the bus.

He's already pulled that trick out, at the end of the reg. season.

It is a no-lose situation! The Vikings and Favre want it so bad. They have a really great team this season. The Saints? What a great story they have too. Both teams playing at the top of their game. I am really looking forward to this one.

I have friends and family in New Orleans so I have been rooting for the Saints all season - but I would also be happy to see the old man pull a George Blanda and play for another 10 years.

laugh surprised

Favre obviously is still bringing it. Quite simply a joy to watch the Vikings this year.

I'm looking forward to a great game.
The NFL playoffs have been better this year, than I can remember, in a long time.
It is better than any other sport's playoff system. Every team is good.

The betting line isn't necessarily a predictor of who will win.
It is just Las Vegas's way of predicting how many people will bet on which team.
That way, they make money, no matter who wins.

The Vikings have the better over-all team, especially where it matters:
running game (which equates to control of the clock) and Defense,
which we all know "wins championships."

The game lies on the performance of Drew Brees.
Can he rise to the occasion and deliver, at home, under the immense pressure
of the rabid fans, of the once hapless "Aints?"

One wild-card, that is lost in the mix, in my opinion: Darren Sharper.
He knows Favre better than any DB in the league.
A pick-six could make the entire game.

I can't imagine this being a blow-out, either way.
Probably one of those games that is close all the way and
something weird happens, at the end.
