I has a van, and about a week ago i was listening to my cd player, and I started fiddling with the car lighter, and suddenly my cd player shut off. i checked the fuses and they were all ok, so idk what to...plz help!

NOW CHECK YOUR WIRING..........

the easiest way to check that your CD player is ok...

run a wire directly from your battery terminal to the power wire of the cd player...

if the cd player turns on, the player is ok, and the wiring is broken.

If it does not come one, your cd player is bad -- or the fuse on the power wire of the cd player is bad.

Often, there is a little fuse on the power wire to the car stereo - on theh power wire close to the unit (not close to the fuse box)...

you may want to lookup the brand/model of your player on the internet - and get a wiring diagram.. it will help you identify the wires, and also show you how to re-hook it all up if you need to do that...

if you post the brand/model... i'll even help you out with finding the proper diagram on the web (if you ahve trouble with that for some reason)...

Ironically, I rarely ever have the radio on while I'm driving. Probably becuase there isn't sh** to listen to anymore....

Gotta get with the times and buy yourself an MP3 player, dude.

I never listen to the radio ( except for sports talk ) but I am never without music in my car.

Most likely a blown fuse. depends..what kind of van? I have seen them, (especially Toyota's) with the fuses on back of the player. Curious as to why you would pull the paneling down? nothing there but speaker wires, unless you have a remote amp?

I've GOT an mp3 player, dude. A genuine iPod. Had it for three years already. The point is, I am comfortable without having distractions in my vehicle like a stereo blasting, so I can more fully concentrate on my driving.

Concentration?????

How can you concentrate if you have music blasting in your ears?
It has been proven that doing this impairs concentration when driving and endangers both other road users as well as you.
Your reactions become slower. You may as well be under the influence of alcohol or on drugs.
Listening to the radio or cd player can keep you alert. Whereas ipods/mp3 players etc block off the surrounding noises, therefore impeding concentration.
But Hey. What do I know?

Umm....perhaps you should re-read my response again.

Not to mention, you don't listen to an iPod with the earbuds while in the vehicle. You connect it to your car stereo.
