so we are still fighting small pox and things like that now cause even after the vaccine that was brought about to fight it small pox has never went away. you make no sense what so ever, polio, small pox, diptheria, typhiod fever, yellow fever, tb,, all those are so rampant here aint they.

I've been getting the flu vaccine every year for 15 years. I haven't had the flu for 15 years. None of Dr Bob Martin's kids have been vaccinated, and they didn't get it either. There are plenty of stories like this on both sides, so this doesn't really constitute a positive case for vaccination. |

I don't know, but since it's so rare for kids to do that, it's not much of an objective judgment criteria for either a positive or negative argument. His kids interacted with other kids in a "normal" way, as far as I know from listening to his lectures. |

I think that for health workers, who would have a higher degree of exposure, it's probably a good idea. I've given my reasons for needing one. And I'll say again, everyone has to weight the risk/benefit to getting a flu vaccine and do what they think is best for themselves. For some, the possible risks outweigh the perceived benefits. More power to you. For others, it's the reverse. Ditto. I get a flu shot every year, except for last May when I got swine, I haven't had the flu. I get vaccinated for pneumonia, I haven't had pneumonia since I had the vaccine. Anecdotal evidence, for sure. But considering I used to get pneumonia once a year like clockwork before I had the vaccine, it's proof enough for me. But no one else should take my word as the gospel truth, because it's simply my opinion and my experience. |

I've been getting the flu vaccine every year for 15 years. I haven't had the flu for 15 years. After I got the swine flu in 1976, I only got one seasonal flu shot after that incident in 1978 and never got one again, but also never had the flu again either. So I have gone 31 years with out a flu shot. Contemplating getting it this time, including a shot for pneumonia which I was just told is a good idea for folks my age.. |
