I'll post the " recipe " for my favorite soup. :-)
All the stuff except for the main ingredients are ' to taste '. Use as much or as little as you like. You will need a crock pot/slow cooker ( mine is something like 4 quarts ) 3-5 good sized potatoes 1 1/2 pounds ham ( smoked picnic is very good but even a processed ham will work ) 1 pound Yellow American cheese ( do not use Kraft slices ) Mil Cube all ingredients into 1/2 to 3/4 inch cubes. Place potatoes in bottom of cooker, add the ham, then the cheese. Pour milk ( how much milk you need will depend on the size of the slow cooker but a cup or so should do it ) over ingredients. Set the slow cooker to low heat and just let it go. After about 30 minutes, the cheese will have started to melt so you will want to stir the soup. Stir occasionally until your potatoes are tender. Check the thickness and add more milk if the soup seems too thick. Keep in mind that it will thicken as it stands and when stored. Put it in a bowl, top with some parsley, salt, pepper, and whatever other spice tickles your fancy. It's a very hearty, very tasty soup that's easy to make. :-) Enjoy. |

Sounds yummy It definitely is. it was one of those " Let's see what I have and what I can come up with " things a couple of years ago. The first attempt wound up being really tasty, but WAY too thick. lol The processed ham ( meaning - water added ) in it is good if you don't want a whole lot of salt. |
