Why do people make fake profiles?

And do we mingle users not realize that their are fake profiles out there??

I don't create a fake profile, though sometimes I think I SHOULD to generate more incoming messages! lol..no, but if someone doesn't like me for what they SEE or what they CAN'T see (i.e. description of myself), then I move on..b/c if you DO plan on meeting someone, they'll find out anyway...besides..who is stupid enough to write "I love hiking" when they hate the outdoors? I totally am straight up that I don't like hiking and I don't like camping, but I'm the first to tell you that I LOVE S'mores! :) Any takers? :)
