They have already found the amino acids in a comet(2004)...no liquid water to get it started though.Seeds floating endlessly waiting for the right place to root. Our ancient ancestors....

Ya know...

On thing that has always struck me about the idea of life elsewhere in the Universe is that, there were an awful lot of scientists, for an awfully long time ( and there still are quite a few ) who dismissed the idea. They do this based on what they know of life and how it starts.

The problem is that an " alien " life form may very well have formed in a way completely different than the way WE formed.

So....the question would be....does life actually form ONLY in the way we came about?? Or could there be any number of ways for life to form?

Keep in mind that science proves itself wrong on a consistent basis.

Nahhhh.....

The Pope wouldn't have a problem because, after all, God made all things in the heavens and the Earth.

Outer space would just be considered as part of the heavens.

Actually...there really wouldn't need to be a whole lot of revisions done.

Just about the only thing that would have to be rethought by a lot of religions is that we are unique creatures and that we are the only form of life.

Once that was proved to be not true, Religions would change pretty quickly, but I don't think it would be a really fundamental change.
