I'll be honest - I had to google kookaburra ![]() You never heard the kookaburra song when you were a kid? |

I went for a wander down to the shops before...get some supplies....have a look at real estate, in the window.... walking home I found a kookaburra sat all puffed up...eyes closed, and looking miserable... so went back to the supermarket, scrounged an old towel....and brought him/her home.... He/she is tucked into a box in my youngest daughter's room, awaiting the wildlife carer's arrival later today. I just walked past her room, and hear this strange rustling sound... I had forgotten about the houseguest, and thought a snake had gotten in... ![]() ![]() Does anyone else have strange houseguests? ![]() I gotta learn to close my door..... ![]() |

Cool! Cute bird. Heard they can be troublesome though.
We've gotten about 8 inches of rain over the past couple of days, took our temps from 100 to 70F, so we've had the windows open when we could. I wake up to quiet whistling last night, and start to freak, till I realize it's the parakeets next to my window. Don't know if they were snoring or what, but it was totally bizarre. Funny later, but odd and creepy. Couldn't figure out who the heck was outside my window!! |
