my aunt (who helped raise me) is severely epileptic, and my uncle had a pretty nasty seizure disorder (he died from this three years ago). both of them would rather people just didn't even mention it rather than bring it up or be extra nice.
they also never wanted to go to the hospital...if the ambulance came, i had to chase it away, promising to care for her at home. with grand mal seizures, they urinate themselves...and my aunt doesn't like to be reminded of this or discuss it in any way, shape or form. it's not a condition to be pitied, nor made a fuss of. it's just a state of life. hopefully, the girl in your school was having a one-time seizure and won't have to worry about the lifelong issues. |
