I'm wondering the same...I have a room to rent and I'm afraid to do the craiglist thing.... 
Creeps and murderers lurk on craigslist.
I haven't rented mine out because I don't want any of them...maybe just make a meditation room and forget the idea of renting. I don't want some freak in there.. 
what about posting on a church board

what about posting on a church board naaa, a posting in the churches here...they won't want to rent from me..

Let's be nice, wannacuddle. She asked for advice besides craigslist. So, she could have gone with a bar, a half-way house, a mortuary, a restroom wall anywhere, a Christian Science reading room, a massage parlor, a tattoo parlor, a prison visitation area, college boards, etc....or a church.
