If you don't log out, does it still say you're online continuously, or will it eventually log off itself? A friend stays on mingle, may not sign out, moves to another site. He thought that it would sign out automatically after a period of time. But people are telling him he's been logged in for a while - maybe a day -- even when he hasn't been on actively looking.

No, there is no automatic log off. It will show you online until you log off.
