I let Elijah watch a movie before he goes to bed every night. Well, this lil bedtime ritual has become He's got this new 'thing' now. I name a movie such as Surf's Up, he says no, it has killer whales in it
Kung Fu Panda has the tiger with the blood red eyes Gremlins has the monsters the boy fed after midnight Flushed Away has the mean talkin frogs Findin Nemo has the sharks The Golden Compass has the polar bears so on an so on He finally decided on Fred Claus, I'm sure halfway into the movie the elves are gonna freak him out *insert hair pullin emoticon here* |

Maybe you could have a new bedtime ritual of reading a book together instead of watching a movie?

The book readin is done when he gets home from preschool, he prefers it that way.

I've got purty much every Walt Disney movie there is an I find it hilarious that he finds somethin skeery in purty much everyone one of em. I wonder did Walt have this kinda thing in mind when he came up with the first Mickey Mouse cartoon????

My 4 yr old will watch a movie until its near dust and then something in will make her cry forever afterward. I have to skip the opening scene in "Over the Hedge" because she will do this. So many movies and I have to remember the one part and skip over it.

Yep, Elijah doesn't like the bear in Over The Hedge anymore neither

What she really loves right now is "The Fast and the Furious" any one of them. I tried to get her interested in "Last of the Mohicans", but no dice.

Pre-school, that's a tough age. The good news is, he'll outgrow it sooner rather than later. Kids at that age are starting to realize that the world is a scary place, the movies can reinforce those fears. And kids at that age can't always articulate their "real" fears, they use the movies to help them do that. Time to dig deeper and help them start being able to articulate their feelings better. Once they learn that, the movies will become a non-issue.
