It's a pretty straight forward approach. No slang, smarmyness, pickup lines, or anything. My "game" doesn't switch when speaking to a black woman. It's fine when dealing with other types or women, just not most black women. What I do notice is that the "Slang", "Game", etc. tends to work for them, at least the "ghetto" ones. Maybe it is me. Oh well. Then let's switch it up then. Where can I find normal black women? And to answer Calleigh, it's genuine interest. Also, to answer Dragoness, why should I not go after what I'm interested in? I am not the type to settle with someone cause their interested. Cause if I'm not interested, why bother? If the interest is not mutual, you are wasting your time and theirs. I did not say not to go after that which interests you, I am telling you that if they are not interested in you, you are going to build up frustrations and be feeling like you feel in the OP. We all see men or woman that are damn sexy to us, interesting, etc... but if that object of our interest blows us off, we have to accept the blow off and keep on truckin. You cannot force someone to be interested if they are not, right? |

I'm not tryin to dis black woman, but that's how I see it. I did not see it as a dis and neither did my best friend. I called her and she says you are probably right because she sees it alot. Her two brothers catch hell when they date outside of their race. She says date who you want to and hopefully you will find the happiness with someone we are all searching for. I agree with this poster (a wise woman), you have to live for you, skip the dumb shi*t. Everyone has their own experiences in this arena, don't trip on me. In other words ignore them. |

Makes sense. Perhaps my interest in the black woman was merely skin deep... Movin' on. Thanks!

Good one Cal. Yeah, maybe I should give up on black women, as as Cal so bluntly put it, we don't share common interests. My thing is that I hear the term "open mindedness" tossed around like failed juggle attempts, yet when it comes down to it, it's a ruse. Open-minded is just another of those cliches people like to toss around like "age is just a number" "race isn't an issue" and "looks don't matter." People say stuff like that because it's expected of them, and they want to appear to be tolerant and politically correct. Basically, it's bullsh!t, all of that stuff matters to everyone, to a degree; what's attractive me isn't the same for everyone, but we all have stuff we admire in the opposite sex, whether we have the guts to admit it or not. I'm the first one to admit I DO have criteria for who I want to date, if I was trying to, but that just causes people to label me "cynical, bitter, and hard to please." I don't think it's any of that, I'm just honest and upfront and not willing to be with just anyone just to say I have a man. As for you asking why you should give up black women because you're interested in them, and therefore, have a right to approach them, that's up to you. I'd never tell anyone who they should and shouldn't try to be with. The only thing I'm saying is, there is more to a person than skin color; I'm a black woman and I'm considered weird for a lot of reasons I won't go into here. So for someone to decide to date me, just because I'm black and then get upset because I don't act like a "typical black woman" that would make them pretty stupid. I think people should date people they share common interests and goals with, but that's just me. |

I really dislike the term typical. We're all so unique in our own way that you can't just slot ppl into A or B or C. All the characterictics that are found in HUMAN BEINGS are things that we all have in us -- some more, some less. We all see the world through our own eyes and experiences. Wake up everyone and stop with the woe is me thing! Make your life the best it can so that the other person doesn't bear all of the responsibility for YOUR happiness. Too much complaining and not enough accountability for our own decisions. You are where you are because you put yourself there. Be honest and have the courage to change from what needs to be changed and to walk away from situations without questioning them to death even if you know you won't get the answer you want. Maybe never.
