When you love for a long time, you love without looking. - Meryl Streep

I maybe young but this quote is so true. The longer we love someone, the more blinded we are to their looks. In the dating world we look for various preferences, but once you find that person and fall in love with them you dont worry about how they change. Why is that? What makes the human brain care in the begining of the relationship, but not care so much later in life?

I don't think it's that we don't care, so much as it is that the things that Really matter stand out more, such as their character. We all change with the passing of time. The key is to change and grow for the better, together.

~beauty is in the eye of the beholder~

one of my favorite lines is this one by Henry David Thoreau~

It's not what you look at that matters,it's what you see.

I don't think that it's because we are blinded. I think that once you really love someone those issues that you thought were so important no longer matter so much....... and you find it it is the little things they do for you makes you love them even more..... we will all change within looks down the road but when we look at the person we truly love we still see them through our eyes the way we did from the beginning..........Once you actually see your partners heart and it is a true heart all the quirks that they seem to have or how they age no longer is what you see instead you see their heart and the true them that is all that matters. Everything else can be worked out down the line as long as the love stays true.............

I dont know if people stop caring there munchie, I think alot of people believe in forever, and stay together no matter what.

But for sure, there are actually plenty that cheat, and leave, and move on. Actually, with the divorce rate.. most people leave eachother. I dont know what percentage people leave because of the other letting themselves go or whatever but ya know whatever.

Alot of people work hard to keep a good looking younger appearance.

Anyway many people mature and realise that when many people age they arent going to be in the same shape as when they are younger.

I mean.. what cha gonna do?

Let me make a correction, im not saying we as people stop caring. What i am saying is that one little proverbial switch in the brain that turns off and another turns on. That part is where the looks dont matter as much and you deeply care about the inner(the heart) of that person.

I think when you can love without looking, its because its a true deep down mature type of love that has moved way beyond the superficial outershell of a person and their heart and soul is far more outstanding. Their very being is what has you "hooked" and in love. I think it simply means your level has moved to a much deeper level.

I am not talking about those that move on, but those find true unconditional love in their partner.

Well, personally.... I really don't look for more than the personality anyways. The last guy I cared about was shorter than me, skinny as hell (weighed way less than me) and had a beaky hawklike honker of a nose. But he was awesome, I was attracted to him from the first hour. He was funny and smart and engaging... but looks wise, well, I didn't care.

So, speak for yourself.

I think acceptance comes easier to people who are going through the same aging process together.

I dont think the caring about looks turns off, i think ones idea of beauty changes.

I dont think people get old usually, and think of their partner as ugly.

If people believe aging is ugly they are most certainly putting themselves in a spot.

It is not only the young, who are beautiful.
