Topic: Girls making the first move. | |
---|---|
What's your opinion on it? I was introduced to a very sexy, personable, and shy man. He's going through a divorce, has two adorable children, and is 10 years my senior. He's made it obvious that he's interested in me through increments of flirting, deep conversation, and occasionally finding an excuse to touch my hand or shoulder. Unfortunately, he confided to a friend of ours that he's afraid to make a move on me. He thinks his marital status, age, and children have put me off. I disagree 100%, and am extremely attracted to him and his level of maturity. I'm starting to think maybe I should make a move on him, but I don't know how or if this is a good idea. Your opinions? |

some men like it if the woman makes the first move, if you're comfortable doing that, go for it.

If your don't mind going through his divorce with him go for it...

I haven't even given the divorce much thought yet, I'm glad you mentioned that! I'll see what happens and then give it some deeper thinking.

You only Live once, i'm actually the kind of person who believes in Love at 1st sight.. cause it actually happened to me and it happened at a very vulnerable time in my life when I wasn't mentally or emotionally ready for it. but thats life, it doesn't wait, it keeps going. anyways long story short, I saw a woman, she saw me, eyes locked, nerves all tingley, hard to breathe, and that was it. she went about her bussiness & I just stood like a rock in my spot scared sh*tless to go up & say hi. now their isn't a day that goes by that I don't kick myself for at least saying hello. Make the 1st move, whats the worst that can happen? he says slow down? *shrugs* sounds like a win/win situation

How long have you known him? |

How long have you known him? We work together, although we've never really interacted. We keep running into each other the past week, so as for as knowing him is concerned, it hasn't really been long. I'm not counting on a huge relationship, I'm just trying to date him right now so I can get to know him better. |
|
|
|
I say ... go for it
Good luck to you |

You only Live once I agree, and I want to be more proactive in every aspect of my life, but this is just so nerve wrecking! |

hey jusy if you are interested in him and he is also interested then what is the harm in checking things out? honestly thats the only way you both will ever find out if you two are compatatable or not. and if things are not looking good then you have to make the choice to either cut and run or if he is actuily worth it to stick it out.

all you have to do it to go for a walk with him and confide in him that you find him very attractive and ask him if he would like to spend a little more time together and if he is attracted to you....
that is likely to get the engine running. |

I dont think its a good idea to pursue until the divorce is final or maybe longer. I dont know the whole situation but when there is children involved it might be a better idea to take things slow and not start dating him.I only say this because I grew up in a divorced family and it can be confusing to the kids. Do what makes you happy but know that your descisions dont only affect you and the guy...they affect the kids too. Good luck!

oooh, good advice.. if the walk doesn't work, find a shared activity.. something you both like to do. lol even a cup of coffee as clich'e as it sounds could work ;)

Hmmmm coffee is definitely something we have in common. :)
We went on a coffee and donut run the other night, and the cashier forgot to give him his donut.... I've got it!! I'll propose to go back to the coffee shop (since they owe him and all) :DDD thanks guys! |

In general, its fine for a woman to make the 'first move'
Do take into consideration that this man maybe going to ride an emotional roller coaster with his divorce. Don't forget kids add to the up's and down's of a divorce. If you want to be his friend, sure. If you are looking for more, be wary. Not just for your sake, but his too. |
