Topic: Why Is It So Hard To Love? | |

Unfortunately for me, it's not hard. I fall too easily and leave myself wide open for the hurt.

Because it will always be easier to hate.

Why is it so hard to love after being hurt so many times? Consider it a form of negative reinforcement- It's kinda like being a toddler and getting your finger burned playing with an open flame. Sooner or later, you figure out that trying to touch fire is not a good thing to do. Unless you're an idiot that is, at which point you'll probably still go about trying to touch that fire. The same thing goes for "love", too- you get crapped on so many times that you "learn" not to go through any of that crap anymore. |

Why is it so hard to love after being hurt so many times? Burn me once, shame on you; burn me twice, shame on me. I don't trust my own judgement now. How many times do I need to stick my hand in the fire before I learn to go play in the pool? I'm a cold fish now. |
