Topic: Is It Ok To Snoop? | |
---|---|
Snooping is fine so long as you dont get caught, or try to use the information you found against them. Its a double negative. But then what's the point of snooping? If you found something incriminating and don't plan to act on it, why look at all? |

The point of snooping is to catch them in the "act". If you find incriminating evidence and plan on pulling that card that you violated privacy to get then it turns into an even sided argument. For instance: "Who is this girl in your cell phone?!" Then he says "You went through my stuff?!", both sides have a valid point. If you use the information to catch them with their pants down then you are still in the right and there is nothing to say but sorry. For instance, you find a text that says I will meet you here. You and a friend can happen to be at the same place at the same time. Thats what I meant.

Is it ok to snoop if you have suspicion of dishonesty? Two words: HELL NO! If you have a suspicious nature...your partner would be better off without you... |

I just know if I ever caught anyone going through my things, no matter how "right" they thought they were, and no matter what they thought they were going to find, we'd be through. And I'd never justify or defend anything they found either, I'd tell them if they hadn't been so freaking nosy and rude, they never would have found it and got their feelings hurt. And then it'd be over between us. That goes for family, friends, and anyone else. But that's just me. |

No. There are reasons to snoop, but dishonesty isn't one of them So, what are the GOOD reasons to snoop? I haven't found one yet,but I'm sure there are. I did do some accidental snooping when we moved. It was more of finding stuff as I packed it. I wasn't actually looking for it. |

It is hard to know which side of this issue to fall on. As adults you have to be at least somewhat responsible for your own saftey and I would say the saftey of your children.
I've routinely checked out the people I date/d; especially when I had children at home. Generally it was public information, input from close friends, or just verifying things they told me. But I didn't make it a secret that I would do that very thing. Anyone who objected to facing their own actions I wrote off as deceptive. Because snooping implys looking at generally places one has no right to be I would say I never found it necessary to violate someone's privacy going through their wallet, reading old love letters, or driving by their house when out with friends. I would consider that behavior stalking someone. IMHO Two wrongs don't make a right. If you think someone is wrong just ditch them and don't lower yourself. |

But what if I like to snoop??? Whats in your bathroom cabinet????
|
|

I dunno.....when you look at your shared cell phone bill and find some strange number in there over and over again at odd times, then I guess it's ok to do some major snooping to find out what the heck is going on.
To this day, he denies calling her before we were divorced......yet I still have the bills that show clearly he did. Some people just can't tell the truth. Therefore, you snoop around and find out. |

But what if I like to snoop??? Whats in your bathroom cabinet???? If I have no business in their bathroom cabinet foul; if they tell me to get a bandaid and I find out they are on heavy duty anti-psychotics I consider that divine intervention and fair play. Also a reason to wonder why someone is keeping what I would consider significant information from me. And a reason to ditch them. |
