Does the person in question recognize that they are depressed? Sometimes people don't even know it. Perhaps you could find literature that points out the symptoms of depression and tell them you would like to help them if they want it.

Whatever you do........dont leave a newspaper clipping on clinical trials for depression on their doorstep.
This in turn will make them want to punch you hard!

If its someone online...you dont. not anyone on line.I know this person very well maybe just go sit with them... not to talk, just to be there... maybe bring some food with you, chances are they may not have been eating a lot... |

I believe depression is partially defined as a persistant feeling of hopelessness...keyword being persistant. Maybe he is just having a set back and trying to get his mind around the changes in his life.
