I can ride a bicycle and/or mass transit most places in Atlanta so I get by for about 4-6 weeks between fill-ups in my Maxima.

...so how long does it last you? ...assuming we can afford to fill up our cars at $4/gallon...

GUH! Well I don't live far from work but I do drive a land yacht .... about 2 weeks if I'm lucky @ $60 a tank

LMAO.. you just reminded me when gas was about $4 or more a gallon out here.. then it suddenly went down to $2 something.. the dude filled my tank.. and it was less than $30.. Im used to a $50 tank.. I called him over to my car.. and I said.. the pump stopped.. its not working.. its only at $30.. my tank cant be full.. he says.. yeah its fulll.. I didnt believe him and turned on the car and the needle went up!.. OH BOY.. I WAS SO HAPPY to only pay HALF as much as I had been having to fill my tank I just did not believe it!!!

Its about 2.45 here, which isnt that bad, last summer it was 5...
I fill it up once a week about 30 bucks... plus 5 for snacks! Duh... :P

Anyways.. The gas companies really have us by the perverbial balls,
People dont want to take the bus or walk, they whine about the prices as they fill up their hummer.


:)I cant talk, I could take the bus if I truely wanted to, but thats a 2 hour ride compared to a 40 minute one.

fuel here is around 2.50 gal

and it depends on which i drive

car gets 40+

bike gets around 40

motor home gets 13 w/o trailer

van i hope gets better since i worked on the airflow sensor and got the service engine light to go out was gettin almost 9 hoping it goes up to about 14 where it is supposed to be

Last month I made it the whole month on one take of gas, I finally filled up last Wednesday, and I'm already at half a tank. It really just depends for me. Right now at $2.60 it costs about $28 to fill my car. Not bad compared to my SUV before ran me 60-70 to fill up. Oh and my car now gets more miles to the whole tank then the last one too, so I really can't complain too much.

it takes two fill-ups to make it to detroit and back, so about 2 hours before a half a tank is consumed. i ride the harley as much as i can to leave the trucks and car at home. far more economical, and i may spend 20.00 a week that way.

Maybe I was overestimating the gas prices a little bit. I do remember right after Hurricane Katrina, Georgia had a gas shortage that resulted in long lines outside the few stations that actually had gas...somethiung about the refineries being shut down and GA having some sort of special bland of gas compared to the rest of the country fo pollution control...or whatever the gas companies made up to run the prices up to well over $4/gal. Anyway, yeah they were pretty high at one point, but haven't really been that high since. Last time I checked, which was probably about 3 weeks ago (still have well over a half a tank left from then), I think it was in the upper $3 range and cost a little over $40 to fill the tank.

Oh how I miss my rocket. Even when the gas was $4/gallon, it still only cost $10 to fill the tank and I still got 350+ miles out of it...and fast too! Not that it guzzled the gas fast; I just covered the miles that way.

...wait a minute...that can't be right; that's over 100 MPG. OK, so maybe it wasn't 350+ miles to a full tank, or maybe it cost a bit more than $10 to fill up, or maybe I hurt my head a little when I crashed it and can't remember the numbers...but I do remember great mileage and covering it quickly.

I don't even want think about it! I drive about 600 miles a week going to & from work. My Dodge Ram is deisel powered, so I'm getting 20 MPG :) But I'm still spending about $140 a week :( It sure beats the $3000+- a week I spend on fuel for my rigs ...

My shop is only a 5 minute walk from my house and I don't get out much anymore, so until I put one of my 'real cars' back on the road instead of the econo-beater, I can go a whole month for only about $20-40 most of the time. Well, unless the weather is nice and work is slow enough to where I can hop on the bike and ride aimlessly all day long. Might get 30-50 MPG on it (depending), but adds up if you ride a few hundred miles a day.

Alot better than in the past. When gas was only a $1 a gallon and between commutes/ aimless 'cruising' and putting on a few thousand miles a month with cars that got 10-13 MPG!
