Can we go through life and truly cause not harm?

One could possibly change the worlds probability ranges if one were to impede the progress of a single insect at the right time.

No we can't. And we cannot get through life without harm, even unintentionally being done to us.

I agree, this is a post that shows up on wiccan message boards all of the time. One of our tennants is "An Harm ye none" Lot's of debate into precisely what this means.
