Topic: Something Happened Today | |
---|---|
Today I was working with a client, who broke his hand and needed a lot of help, so I was helping him with basic ADLS. He asked me if I like doing my job, I gave him some blather, he said you do work that most people would not do and most people don't want to do. I told him I read somewhere "Whatsoever you do for the least of my brothers, that is what you do unto me". Later he stopped me and asked me what it was I had said to him earlier, I repeated it. He nodded his head yes and began crying and hugging me, I have not been able to stop crying myself, thinking about him. Now you go out and rock someone's world instead of posting your stupid opinions about stuff that doesn't really matter, honestly who cares how many angels can dance on the head of a pin? Be an angel and make someone dance.

I love those odd, random little exchanges that so definitely make me aware of the power of God and his everyday presense.

Whatever we do for each other we do for ourselves in the long and short run. I never needed to believe in anything but myself and others to know that. If your belief in god is how you arrived there I have no problem with that, but for some of us it doesn't take a faith in a god to do what is right and what makes us better human beings.
I honor your commitment and your humanity even if I don't share you beliefs. |

Brother, that's wonderful. The Lord was able to reach someone else through your faithfulness and constitution in the Word.

Be an angel and make someone dance. The quote works for deists, theists, and atheists equally in different contexts, and is IMHO equally meaningful. |
