I am not worried about healthcare,I don't panic if Mingle has some tech glitches and I don't care about poor people in third world countries. My only concern are things that directly relate to my self-preservation and happiness. Since adopting this attitude,I find I am calmer and happier. Embrace Apathy!! be seeing you

Hon, we've been over this and over this. Apathy is not having emotions. It's not about or relaetd to being worried or concerned, it's simply not caring at all, in any way shape or form.
In other words, it's the easy going laid back folks. |

I've tried to be apathetic, but apparently, the genes are too strong in me. It's hard sometimes. What I've noticed with age is that the more bad news and strife accumulated, the more inured I have become, though. One person cannot do or fix ALL the world's ills, for sure. And I'd be a total wreck if I "wore" all the grief around me.

lol, well im not sure about apathy, but I am with you on the helping yourself, working on yourself thing.
I spend little energy on whats out of my control, and work on making my life more productive, so I may be of help to myself, and someone else. I hear people wound up about all kinds of things. I say, if it dont apply, let it fly. |

Well, work is crazy. If you can fix that, I'd be here more. Work is something I'm not apathetic about, I adore my work.

I have friends who believe Im apathetic. Maybe I am for certain things. Some things just dont matter and I just dont care. They believe I should care....but I just dont.
They believe if I dont do something RIGHT NOW the world will blow up or something.

I could care less about what happens in Darfur or some other part of the globe whose name I can't even pronounce... and I could especially care less about animal-rights nutcases and their drug-addled beliefs on animal cruelty and stuff. It's all just a big ol' heap of malarkey, and I could care less about all of it. |
