I lived in Istanbul 6 years and cooked Turkish food all time. I have a lot of Turkish recipes I collected over those years. I don't cook very much now, just me and my little boy but he still requests etli nohut (bits of lamb with chick peas, tomates and onions). He calls it Turkish chili, I call it comfort food.

I simply don't get it. Turks know how to eat rocks and pebbles? I used to have a Turkish girlfriend, she was a vegetarian, cooked great meals, and then she turned vegan, forget it, she only did that to hurt me. I split up with her after that vegan meal. (The way out of a man's heart is through his stomach.) |
