I am bored with the usual, so I threw together some seasonings to make a rub for the pork steaks. Even my picky son ate it! Sadly, I didn't really measure anything, so I can only try to give you
an idea of how much I used. 1/4 cup lite soy sauce 1 Tablespoon paparika 1 Tablespoon rosemary 1 Tablespoon thyme 1/2 Tablespoon pepper 1/4 Tablespoon salt (I prefer to use as little salt as possible, and the lite soy sauce still has some in it) Mix it all together and rub it onto 4 pork steaks. Let it sit for at least 10 minutes, and grill. I actually cooked it indoors on a covered grill pan , for 10 minutes on each side. |

This recipe for Creamy Crock Pot Scalloped Potatoes would go great with your pork steaks..
1 tsp salt . 1/4 c flour . 4 slices American cheese . 1 c water . 10 oz cream of mushroom soup . 1 small onion, thinly sliced . 3 tbsps butter . 2 lbs potatoes (about 6 medium) . 1/4 tsp pepper . 1/2 tsp cream of tarter Directions Step #1 Peel & thinly slice potatoes & place this in a medium mixing bowl. Step #2 In a Pyrex measuring c, mix together water & cream of tartar. Step #3 Pour mixture over potatoes; drain but don't rinse. Step #4 The cream of tartar keeps the potatoes from turning brown during cooking. Step #5 You can use this method for any crock pot recipe that calls for potatoes. Step #6 Place half of potatoes in bottom of crock pot with half of the flour & sliced onion. Step #7 Sprinkle top half of the flour on top. Step #8 Salt & pepper to taste. Step #9 Add remaining potatoes, onion & flour. Step #10 Dollop butter over top of potatoes. Step #11 Spoon undiluted soup over top next. Step #12 Cook on Low for 6 to 8 hrs & on High for 3 to 4. Step #13 Thirty mins before serving add cheese by breaking it into small pieces; mix it. |
