their health care from one of the refs i cited is only about 11% of their GDP so their debt problems are not primarily health care related. ours on the other hand costs about 16% of our GDP. which is where the 5% of GDP = $5.6 trillion savings comes from.
so, by any reasonable estimate our debt would go down dramatically - possibly by something like $5.6 trillion a year if we adopted the french health care model. the rest of the french economic problems notwithstanding.... |

What part did it have to play in the downfall of the economy? How were jobs lost because of health care? It's not. Don't be so surprised that politicians are chronic liars. 
I don't believe it is the key to our economic recovery. But that is what Obama said. The only numbers I ever see on the news is 47 million uninsured. And 1 trillion if not more to fund it. Mind you 1 trillion we do not have nor do they know where to get it from. Can you say increased taxes? They can't raise taxes enough to pay for their irresponsibility and greed. That would be more debt than the total assets owned by American taxpayers!! Indeed, Americans are debt slaves to the fascist State. |
