i understand your pain and know very well how to hide mine

i can still feel the bruning feeling on my backside and my legs

i as a parent never put a hand on my child no matter what he/she did

but i have a wonderful life now and i live good

I found better parenting techniques, and didn't need to lay a hand on either of my children, with a few RARE exceptions.

The thing is, I went through all that crap, and it made a very angry, bitter young man.

But as I got older, I realized that the people who did it were trying to make sure that I turned out no better than they were.

Well..it didn't happen the way they would have liked.

As a parent of an 16 and 18 yr old, I look back and think about how I would have done things differently, better.

So I suspect the parents that used physical discipline probably toned down what they had received as children.

Imagine what they got as kids.

well i share.... because i know it wasnt my fault i was treated that way... nor am i ashamed of it, because i shouldnt be ashamed, they werent my actions.. and as an adult im not going to let it be a problem for me... why should it be? i never deserved that, this i know nor does anyone...

YES, A drunken dad, who abused everytime he used,,if he was drinking, he was mentally abusing, or physicly abusing me or one of my siblings..
Belt folded and the BENT around part held in his hand as he used the bukle end to leave blood. Stabbed with a fork in my arm repeatedly as he cussed me as I stood in a corner balling my eyes out at about ten years old...YES,, lived to see, feel, and TO KNOW,,abuse.

And to go on with that and me, I raised three children, they all were taught to behave or the count came, 1,,,2,,,,3, on three, they recieved a snack by hand on their bottoms,,,ONE smack,,,
and almost always,,The count,,only got to TWO,wink.
I swore to GOD I would never be a drunk, or an abuser or a man who
was full of anger,,I made the oath when I was 13, and it has ruled my life....
All my kids are GREAT parentys now,,all also believe in a small smack on a bottom,,,
I know that if it was not for my dads EXTREME FEAR,in my mind growing up,,,,I would now probably be dead, for all the shlt I got into,,but KNEW,,I COULD NEVER do SOME THINGS, or HE WOULD HAVE KILLED ME had he known..So fear,,,a little bit,,helps keep young minds thinking harder as to doing wrongful acts,,,CAN THIS BE WRONG?
TO MANY, YES,,,to me and my kids,,,NO,,,
I have two nephews who have never been held responsible for their actions other than talked to,,,their both still living with their mother NOW in their 30's and BOTH hooked on drugs, and BOTH with babies born to them...Their dads were not around,or didn't get involved with correcting them,,so they learnd to play their moms...
When WE start letting children threten teachers with them saying,,,YOU BETTER NOT TOUCH ME,,LET GO OF MY HAND, THEY PUT A FINGER AGAINST ME,,,,,Thats what happens to their thinking,,,I CAN DO ANYTHING,,,And you can only call my folks,,,,
I use to get a swat in school, if I was bad,,,
FOLKS,,,TRULY, THAT KEPT MY LITTLE WILD ASSS IN CHECK...
If I had the ability then to tell a teacher,,NO,BACK OFF< LET GO OF MY HAND<ARM<ECT...I WOULD HAVE BEEN EXSPELLED AT 10 years old....lol
Punishments work, if the punisher, has a great temperment,
the school system failed as SOME TEACHERS shouldn't have been a teacher, let along someone responsible enough to KNOW their damage..
