I'm sitting in the darkness Hot Urban Night Listening to The rumble of Brooklyn below An angry heat Packing Raw Power The train ride Rattling Hiding the cries Of the babies The girls march below Soldiers of crack Needing the almighty dollar Or be sick While the suit and tie Smokes it up In a gold leafed bathroom In the penthouse And I wipe my brow Of the city heat Climb back Into my window And Go back to sleep Tammy
