and people still believe one man and one administration actually run this country... I think they should sit down and have a beer over it. They both need to swallow their pride and apologize for their part. If people can learn to do that the world would be a better place. I apologize for all the times I f***ed up! ladylid - I'd apologize for things I haven't done if it meant a refill remember when as a child our parents used to make us apologize, shake hands and then go play - same should happen here... apologize accepted. My parents made us sit across from each other until we were ready to apologize and we finally would cause we were bored, then go outside and fight more. was not apologizing but thanks for accepting it - now where's my refill We'd do the same as kids - always played nice in front of my mom but once we were out of her eye sight - it was on. refill coming right up... yea, play nice in the public eye, and dirty deeds behind our backs..politicians. are you saying it's our parents fault??? (just kidding) moms... If we have bad politicians, it's their moms fault.. every thing starts in the womb. |

Yes I agree that would be the good. We have someone on the hill that wants to force Obama to apologize. Some people just can't get enough. Let the guys in question work it out on their own. If I had a dollar for every time I screwed up, I'd be.... We all do it, it's just we want blood from those we don't like, that do it. |

Instead of drinking beers I would rather see this cop and this harvard cry baby have a boxing match in the gym of the white house.Obama trashed this guy in front of millions of people for risking his life and doing his job exactly how he was trained to do.I'm sick of hearing how the minorities are always the victim regardless of wealth, social status,or popularity, and never miss the opportunity to insult, degrade,or humuliate a white person any chance they can.

Or a Basketball games with no fouls called. I agree, a beer to sweep this under the rug. First of all as a former Cop, I would refuse the beer. Sorry Mr. President, I have to drive. Second of all what kind of message does this send? If you have a run in with the law, sit down and have a beer? Paleeze. This is almost as bad as his "acted stupidly" comment. And stupidly is not a word anyway. Who the heck is paying for the trips back and forth? |

--------------------------------------------------------------- Boston cop suspended after racist outburst: police Wed Jul 29, 10:35 pm ET BOSTON (AFP) – Boston police said they had suspended an officer for a racist email likely to renew tensions over the recent arrest of black Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates. "Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis placed Officer Justin Barrett, 36, on administrative leave pending the outcome of a termination hearing," a spokesman for the force told AFP in a statement. "Commissioner Davis was made aware of a correspondence with racist remarks and yesterday removed the officer of his gun and badge." The email describes Gates, who was arrested and briefly detained earlier this month at Harvard, near Boston, as a "banana-eating jungle monkey," according to a copy published by news site ......... http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20090730/ts_alt_afp/usracismarrestuniversitypolice |

I don't see the connection with this officer and the Sgt involved with Professor Gates. The officer was immediately stripped of his authority and will be dealt with. Boston has a large police force. It's a weeding out process. I've been through it.

Granted his words were harsh but they were still his own, not written by anyone else, it expressed how he 'felt' about the situation, give it a break. |

That's it Thomas show how grown up that view is as well. I believe there was enough embarrassment to go around, but of course you focus on one individual. |

It sends the message that that the president is willing to sit down and talk with those that disagreed with him or are angry with him. That's character. He could have actually swept it under the rug by avoiding/ignoring it. I appreciate that the cops didn't make themselves look bad by refusing to sit down. |

obama blatantly broke campain promise not to aise tax on those with income less than 250k He hasn't. yes he has you make less than 250k and you pay a high tax on tobacco (as you smoke he said """"""""(not any kind of tax)on those with income less than 250k"""""""" that tax on tobacco is a kind of tax he broke his promise Cigarette tax is not specific to those with incomes under 250,000 anyway but that tax was in the works before Obama got in office, |

Considering there are whites out there who continue to perpetuate the hatred, the shoe fits. Until the day comes when people stop associating race with being a "thug" or acting badly and judge people by their personal character we will have to deal with the issues as they come up. White folks have had the power in this country since it's incept, they are then responsible for the mistreatment of others until they stop doing it. |
