Topic: How Do You Tell Somebody They are INSANE? | |
---|---|
I started thinking that next time he comes over I should have a tape recorder and record what he is saying. Then again a lot of the things he was writing down, cause remember her was convinced that people are listening in on us. But enough was said that if I did record it, it would sure give enough evidence to the local mental hospital to get the men in the white coats to come and take him away. uhmmm, why are you having him over again? uhmmm, call the police - they will take it from there... uhmmm, why do you think it is your responsiblity? uhmmm, call his family and them to get him help, and to leave you alone... uhmmm, you do realize - this is actually dangerous for a non-professional to try to handle??.... take care of yourself, your safety... and ask his family to get him the help he needs... |

Dealing with some one who is paranoid is very tricky. If you try to convince him he needs help, he may snatch you and take you to that camp sight he was talking about. Let the pros tell him what is wrong with him.

Thank you all so much for your advice. I am meeting up with another mutual friend today to talk about it. And then we are going to take it from there. Even if I do lose him as a friend I still want to to try to see if I can help him before I do. I know that a lot of you might think I am nuts, but I just cannot see a friend suffer. Best of luck...be prepared...it probably won't work. |

I watched my best friend of over a decade relapse back into mental illness. It was horrible to watch. Not a threat to himself or others, had income, access to mental health services.
Just terrible to watch. |

Wrong way to go about this!At least from what I have learned about this illness. He is trusting you.If you break that trust,Then you become just another enemy! You don't want that to happen. For your own safty, just call the cops and have him picked up.That way he will get the help he needs and you will keep yourself safe. With no hard feelings from him.People like that continue to go off thair meds.He needs a friend and help. I would not evenput another person in this.there is nothing they can realy o.Your his friend.Call the cops.but most of all,Stay Safe. Best of luck to you. J.M.O. |
