Innocent child
Abandoned Empty stomach Nothing on her feet She smiles Unforgiving night She wanders alone Against the frost Nipping at her bare toes She smiles Angered sun Scorching her skin Blistering her feet Against the sultry concrete She smiles Bitter floor Rough against her back Cardboard keeping her warm As she sleeps She smiles Accepted child Lays in her warm bed And hugs her new mother goodnight She has a place to call home She smiles |
