They suck this year but been a fan for a long time. Big Browns fan as well. Used to have season tickets at the old stadium when I lived up there.

alright

i had a feeling this was gonna happen........

how are any of you going to put neil young and soundgarden/pearl jam/nirvana in the same category ---- that is my first question???

grunge, whatever you may call it...who cares when IT started

what I am talking about

right?

I am talking about that "Seattle Grunge" Rock. Neil Young? Are ya kidding me????

Seattle Grunge Rock like......Soundgarden - Pearl Jam - Nirvana - Alice in Chains - and several other smaller bands which I won't even get into......

IF you want to get into the "roots" of "GRUNGE" MUSIC

IT was created by Mark Arm from the band Mudhoney, which would be one of those, "smaller bands"

Neil Young!?!? Are you serious?!? He plays the HARMONICA!

Going a little off topic keeps others interested in the thread. So you are limiting it to Seattle Grunge only. Well people may look at them as a poser but Nirvana was great and so was Pearl Jam. I listened to both of the A LOT.

Im not saying Nirvana was bad....that is not the point of the thread

Just saying we should NOT give credit for "Seattle Grunge" to Kurt Cobain like everyone does....

I meant Kurt
heh

I didn't think they did. I thought they all just got lumped together. Nirvana unplugged on mtv was pretty awesome.

Agreed. I am from Wisconsin but was in the Air Force for most of the 80's and traveled a lot. I knew some good guys from the Seattle area, they turned me on to grunge. I can't remember half of the one hit bands that came out at that time. I wish I could.

But if the purpose of Grunge was to stir emotion...I gotta say Soundgarden was good. Too heavy at times.
Pearl Jam got me through a divorce, so I'll always remember them.
Nirvana made me want to work out.and party.

I dunno. Thanks for the topic, and the memories it brought back.

well if youre talking about memories..

i can remember listening to "grunge" when i was younger too

lets not talk about age tho...and just say when i was younger

but get this...it is STILL good, and does the same things for me now, just differently

so i recommend getting a Soundgarden CD ---- Superunknown is my suggestion..and while youre at it...pick up an Audioslave one too...and may as well get Pearl Jam - "Ten" ...and if you really wanna go crazy? Try Collective Soul or "Purple" by STP...and if you like that...get back to me

Hey Billy, I have an external Hard drive with over 250 gigabytes of music. I can't say how I got it, but it has enough music on it to play 200 plus days straight. Lots of Grunge. All the soundgarden and Alice, and all of it. I love music.

Maybe the Cobain vs Alice in Chains deaths were one was a suicide, and one was a drug overdose if I remember correctly. Either way, I miss them both. Personally, I have been a Neil Young fan for ever. I got so sick of the 70's crappy music, that when Grunge started out I loved it immediately. Have a good day and rock on.

Too bad Neil Young can't sing and Chris Cornell has gone pop sick

Cornell has not gone pop, that is an uneducated statement

You must not like music

Cornell is a musician. Have you listened to his ALBUM? Have you listened to the MUSIC?

Cornell has been around over 20 years. Why would you think he'd keep spitting out Black Hole Sun over and over?

So I'm uneducated and hate music? Wow, you know me better than I know myself, mad explode

Not so much.

You need to go back to about 1981, with bands like Green River, or Mr. Epp & The Calculations.

I love Grunge, and Mr_Music lives up to his name once again. Nirvana was a great grunge band though, but none of the bands you stated actually "started" grunge music.

He always does! drinker
