This morning I let my dogs out as usual and pretty soon I heard a
commotion outside..

She was going bonkers trying to tear apart a long, flexible drainpipe
that was laying on the lower end of my property.

After about two hours of hearing her whining and frantically trying to
tear it open (and she was succeeding, too! That dog is one determined
...well, you know) I grabbed a pair of gardening "snips" and went
outside to help her find out what was in there.

I was thinking either animal or one of her tennis balls rolled in
there...anyway...cut the thing into a few pieces and, while she was on
one end going bonkers, out of one of the other ends out comes this
little baby possum...scared to death.

Fortunately, neither Dahlia nor Kohl noticed it, and it sauntered off
into the bushes.

I'm wondering, if baby was in there, where's mama and perhaps other
babies, too?

I live in a suburban area, but my lower property is very "woodsy," so
several little wild creatures live here. Little fellow reminded me,
though, that I need to get my dogs' rabies vaccinations updated.

At least you didn't poke it in the butt with a stick like OTHER people
have

A word of advice from a rural person. If you poke a hemmed up possum in
the butt with anything you're liable to get bit.
